How much time does it take for a mentor to respond?

Unfortunately, it's not very easy to answer this question.
Sometimes it's an hour, sometimes it’s a day (or many days); it depends on the mentors and their availability.
Are the mentors active at all?
Theoretically, yes. When a mentor doesn’t have any more capacity, they should set themselves as unavailable.
Unfortunately, not all of the mentors are doing that, so they appear in the mentors’ list even though they are not actually active.
What are we doing about it?
We are constantly reviewing the unanswered requests and we are sending reminders to these mentors. When we are convinced that they are not active, we set them as unavailable.
It's not the most efficient process right now, but we are doing our best and we have plans to improve it.
What should I do now?
If you sent a request recently, we'd recommend waiting a bit longer (up to 5-7 days) in case the mentor is on vacation or away from their keyboard. If it's longer, you can apply for another mentor.
Note that you can have only 5 open requests, so if you need, cancel some existing requests.
